Kildare's Covid 19 14 Day Incidence Rate Remains The 2nd Highest In Ireland.

Only Donegal's rate is higher.

Kildare's 14 day Covid 19 incidence remains the second highest in Ireland, after Donegal.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tony Holohan, last named both counties as among four where transmission rates of the virus were of concern.

558 people in Kildare have been diagnosed with the virus in the two weeks to May 9th.

The incidence rate here is 250.8 cases per 100,000 people.

The national R rate is 129 and 6,144 new diagnoses.

The rate in Donegal is 260 and 488 new cases.

12,315 people in Co. Kildare have been diagnosed with Covid-19, since testing began, following 30 new cases confirmed, last night.

Nationally, no additional deaths were notified, and 381 new cases of the virus were confirmed.

188 cases are in Dublin, 39 are in Donegal, 13 in Limerick, 13 in Cork, 13 in Tipperary, 13 in Westmeath and the remaining 72 cases are spread across 15 other counties.

31 of the 124 Covid patients in hospital are receiving intensive care, while the 5-day moving average of cases now stands at 425.
