Kildare Urban Areas Look Set For Lower Speed Limits In 2024: Cabinet Approves New Legislation

Junior Minister Jack Chambers believes a limit of 30 kilometres per hour is necessary in some urban areas.

Built-up areas in Kildare could see lower speed limits introduced by early next year.

Cabinet has signed off on proposed new legislation to lower the default limits in certain areas like towns.

There will also be mandatory drug testing at the scene of crashes, while there will be stricter rules surrounding penalty points.
