Kildare Senator: Housing Association Tenants Need Clarity On Ownership.

Residents say they have minutes of meetings to support their claim.

A Kildare senator says housing body tenants need clarity on the purchase of their homes.

Tenants of several housing association estates in Kildare contend they were told, when they took up residence, that they would have the option to purchase their homes.

In the main, the relevant housing associations say the mechanism to allow purchase does not exist.

Residents say they have minutes of meetings to support their claim.

Kildare Fianna Fáil Senator, Fiona O'Loughlin has raised the matter with the Housing Minister and says this situation is replicated all over the country.

She says "Residents chose housing bodies precisely so they would have the option to own their own home, a home that at the time was out of reach”
