Kildare Residents Urged To Take Caution Due To Storm Kathleen

Severe weather expected to bring strong winds and the potential of fallen trees and flooding.

Kildare residents are being advised to take caution as Storm Kathleen moves across Ireland bringing strong winds and the potential of fallen tress and flooding.

The severe weather is however expected to have the biggest impact in coastal areas from Waterford around to the west coast up as far as Mayo.

People are being urged to stay away from seaside areas.

Over 22,000 homes and businesses are already without power.

The ESB says crews are active and responding to faults where safe to do so.

It says it will have a fuller picture of the damage around lunchtime as the peak of the storm passes.

Dublin Airport says it remains open and operational.

The DAA has said that the early departures and arrivals have moved well so far, despite the wind.

Shannon Airport is also reporting no major delays.

However, passengers are being advised to check with their airline directly for updates on specific flights.
