The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission is warning the motor industry following reports of anti-competitive practices

Motorists in Kildare are free to choose where they get their car fixed.

That's the warning from the consumer watchdog, which has written to the motor industry following reports of anti-competitive practices.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission says it's been notified of drivers being blocked from using independent garages.

It follows reports of people being told their car warranty could be voided if they use independent garages.

It’s told importers and distributors to review their arrangements by August or face possible sanctions.
