Kildare Listed As One Of The Counties With No Road Fatalities In 2025

This year's road deaths have dropped by 19 percent compared to the same time last year.

This year's road deaths have dropped by 19 percent when comparing them to the same period of time, last year.

Only 9 counties have recorded no fatalities on their roads this year.

According to the Irish Independent, the total number of deaths on Irish roads since the beginning of 2025 is 34 people, comparing to last years figures of 47 people.

This year the fatalities included seventeen drivers, eight pedestrians, three passengers, five motorcyclist and one pedal cyclist.

Kildare is listed as one of the nine counties that have not recorded any road fatalities, along side Waterford, Clare, Tipperary, Louth, Wicklow, Monaghan, Leitrim and Longford.

Last year, a total of 174 people lost their lives on Irish roads, that represented a 4 percent decline when compared to a total of 184 people in 2023.

Studies are now under way into the volatility in Irish road death trends.
