Households in Kildare had the highest electricity bills in the country in 2023.
The CSO have published their Trends in Metered Electricity and Gas Bills 2023 report, which found that Kildare spent a median price of €1,020 on electricity.
This was followed by Meath spending €1,011, and Wicklow spending €976.

The lowest electricity bills were in Donegal (€726), Leitrim (€753), and Mayo (€799).
Overall, the average household paid €880 in electricity bills in 2023, down 3% on the previous year.
The CSO reports households saw an increase of 28% in their gas bill, with a median annual cost of €1,249.
