Kildare Homeless Figure Falls By Just One As National Total Hits New Record High

Homelessness across the wider Mid-East region - including Kildare, Meath, Dublin and Wicklow - accounts for around 5% of the national total.

The number of adults in emergency accommodation in Kildare has fallen by just one.

The latest figures show 165 adults were homeless in the county during the last week of May - down from 166 in April.

Nationally, the figure has hit 15,747 - yet another record.

Department of Housing figures show there are 4,844 children growing up in B&Bs and hotels.

The data doesn't include asylum seekers, refugees, women in refuge centres, rough sleepers or the so-called hidden homeless.
