Figures show construction started on 965 Kildare homes in the first quarter of 2024.
New figures claim at record number of houses are being built in Kildare.
The Department of Housing’s latest report reveals 965 Kildare home commencements in the first quarter of 2024.
This is over double for the same period in 2023 when construction started on 424 residential units.
It is a record for the period, since 2015, when the data series began.
Nationally, construction started on almost 12,000 new homes from January to March this year.
That is up 63% from 2023.
The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien says, “the figures show that a robust stock of new housing supply is in the pipeline for Kildare.”
