
The highest rate of Covid-19 in the country is in Limerick.
Kildare is the county with the fourth highest incidence rate in Leinster, fourth behind Laois, Louth and Westmeath.
In the week that ended on the 2nd July, 617 people in County Kildare had registered as having tested positive for Covid-19.
Kildare's incidence rate during that period stood at 277.3 per 100,000, according to new data from the HPSC.
The median age of people who contracted Covid-19 during that time was 42.
There were 904 Covid patients in hospital across the yesterday, down two from Wednesday. Of these, 36 were in intensive care, down one.
The highest number of new cases last week was in the 35 to 44 age group, accounting for more than a fifth of notified infections.
The highest rate of Covid-19 is in County Limerick, at 322.2 per 100,000 people.
