Kildare County Council Prepares To Mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Events and initiatives will run all next week.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities will take place next Friday, December 3rd.

Kildare County Council will not only mark the day itself this year but is preparing a week of events titled Kildare Disability Week which will run from next Monday to Friday.

Events planned include lighting Kildare landmarks such as Áras Cill Dara, Maynooth University and Newbridge Town Hall purple as well as flying the County Kildare Access Network Flag in prominent locations around the county.

A number of new initiatives are also being launched and people are encouraged to show their support by wearing the colour purple.

Health and Safety Officer with KCC, Michael Hurley, joined Eoin Beatty on this morning's Kildare Today programme.
