Kildare Based Organisation Will Handle Confidential Contacts From Defence Forces Memebers Reporting Sexual Harassment.

The appointment of the confidential contact follows allegations made by a group called 'Women of Honour'

A Kildare based organisation is being appointed as the confidential contact to help members of the Defence Forces who make allegations of bullying and sexual harassment.

Raiseaconcern was established in Straffan in 2013, and is now headquartered at the Waterways in Sallins.

It says it provides "safe, secure, confidential and impartial service for raising concerns about workplace wrongdoing.

The appointment of the confidential contact follows allegations made by a group called 'Women of Honour' of rape, sexual harassment and bullying within the Defence Forces.

Raiseaconcern, in addition to acting as a point of contact for Defence Forces members, will also provide Defence Minister Simon Coveney with regular, anonymised updates on the number and types of cases the confidential contact person is encountering.
