The National Roads Office (NRO) at Kildare County Council has recognised the growing issue of a "truck stop" developing along the verges of the Sallins bypass, particularly on the Clane side.

In response to inquiries, the NRO confirmed that they have previously brought this matter to the attention of An Garda Síochána.
Gardai have taken steps to address the problem by engaging with drivers found illegally parking along the bypass. Enforcement actions have been taken, with officers relocating trucks found parked unlawfully.
Kildare County Council has reiterated its commitment to collaborating with gardai to resolve the issue.
Pedestrians have been advised against using the hard shoulder for walking, with designated footpaths and cycle lanes available on the opposite side of the road.
