Commissioned by the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland (DIGI), the report highlights that 2,119 pubs have shut their doors nationwide over the past two decades - a 24.6% decline.
Kildare saw a 13.6% drop (26) in licensed pubs during the same period.
Economist Professor Tony Foley, who authored the report, warns that a further 600 to 1,000 pubs could close over the next decade unless government support is introduced.
