Motion, by Cllr. Tracey O'Dwyer, will be debated next week.
There are calls for a HGV ban in a Kildare town.
This would prohibit any vehicles with 5 or more axles from accessing Kilcullen town centre, "other than for deliveries at designated times."
Similar bans in place in other parts of the country, usually between 7am and 7pm.
The motion, by Fine Gael Cllr., Tracey O’Dwyer, asks Kildare County Council to begin the process of banning the vehicles.
The matter will be debated before the May meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District next week.
