The historical building is located on the Dublin Road
Kildare County Council has confirmed it is in discussions with the St Vincent de Paul regarding the ownership of and future use of the Alms House on the Dublin Road in Naas.
The house was originally founded to house the poor women of Naas centuries ago, however, it has been vacant for the last number of years.
The Peter McVerry Trust had intended to redevelop this property for housing accommodation purposes but have recently advised they are no longer in a position to carry out this redevelopment.
Kildare County Council confirmed this information to Labour Cllr. Anne Breen, who requested an update at the recent Naas MD meeting.
