ISPCA Rescues Lurcher Found In Kildangan, Described As One of Worst Cases Of Emaciation Ever Seen

ISPCA Welfare Inspector Jimmy McCormack described her as "skin and bone" and "very weak," but praised her gentle nature despite her ordeal.

A severely neglected dog named Hope has made a remarkable recovery after being rescued by a concerned member of the public in Kildangan and taken into the care of the ISPCA.

The Lurcher was found in an emaciated state, with open sores, severe hair loss, and a leg injury believed to be caused by trauma or neglect.

An ISPCA vet said it was the worst case of emaciation that she had ever seen.

ISPCA Welfare Inspector Jimmy McCormack described her as "skin and bone" and "very weak," but praised her gentle nature despite her ordeal.

Hope received emergency veterinary care and rehabilitation at the ISPCA’s National Animal Centre.

She has fully recovered since she was found in April and been adopted into a loving home.

The ISPCA says over 20 other Lurchers are currently awaiting adoption.
