ISAG: Centralised Nature Of Ireland's Pandemic Response Is Problematic.

It has published a plan for containing the so-called Indian variant.

The centralised nature of Ireland's response to the Covid 19 pandemic is problematic.

That's according to a member of the Independent Scientific Advisory Group.

The organisation has published a 6 point plan for dealing with the so-called Indian variant, b.1.617.2 .

It includes the development of "effective local systems of outbreak control."

Prof. Anthony Staines is a founder member of the ISAG and Professor of Health Systems at DCU.

Speaking to Kildare Today, he says, in future, public health should be delivered through network hubs across Ireland.

Prof. Staines has been speaking to Clem Ryan on Tuesday's edition of Kildare Today.
