A new vinyl pressing plant has opened in Clane, as vinyl sales continue to surge in Ireland.

The plant, operated by Anthem Vinyl, is currently running two pressing machines and plans to expand its team, which will initially consist of about a dozen employees.

It is the only vinyl record production facility in Ireland, following the closure of Dublin Vinyl last year.

Vinyl sales reached 397,000 units in 2024, slightly surpassing 396,000 in 2023.

In comparison, sales were only 218,000 in 2019, with a steady increase year after year.

Anthem Vinyl will offer a full range of pressing services, working with both independent and major labels, from Ireland and abroad.

Founder and Director of the company Brian Kenny spoke about the resurgence of vinyl records on this morning’s Kildare Today programme.
