Kfm has seen a letter sent to residents.
Residents of the Eyre Powell Hotel in Newbridge have been informed they will soon be relocated, as the facility will no longer accommodate applicants under the International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS).
A letter issued by the Department of Integration on February 11 states that alternative accommodation arrangements will be made, with individual transfer letters detailing specific locations and move dates to be sent out.
The department acknowledged that the relocation might be unsettling and apologised for the disruption.
However, it emphasised that due to shortages in IPAS accommodation, requests for specific locations cannot be accommodated.
Kfm understands that some residents that live at the hotel are employed locally, some volunteer with Tidy Towns and children attend local schools.
