Intel Nears Completion Of Global Layoffs, With 195 Jobs At Risk In Leixlip

The company recently informed the government that up to 195 positions at its Leixlip facility are at risk of compulsory redundancy.

Intel has announced that it has nearly completed a sweeping round of layoffs initiated earlier this year, part of a global cost-cutting strategy that will see its workforce reduced by roughly 15%.

Publishing its second-quarter financial results, the California-based chipmaker, which has a facility in Leixlip, reported revenues of $12.9 billion (€10.9 billion), effectively flat compared to the same quarter in 2024.

The company recently informed the government that up to 195 positions at its Leixlip facility are at risk of compulsory redundancy.

The site currently employs approximately 4,900 staff.

Meanwhile, an additional 37 job cuts were recently announced at the Leixlip plant among catering staff.

Last month, Compass Ireland, the company providing food services on-site, proposed to cut over a third of its 99 staff following reduced demand.

Affected workers included catering assistants, kitchen porters and a barista.

Staff were offered redundancy, reduced hours, or redeployment within Compass.
