There were 2.3 million visits to youth website, SpunOut.ie last year, and information on sex, self-harm and mental health was the most frequently accessed.

The Irish Times reports that the most-read article last year, with just shy of 90,000 views, was a piece on the effects of social media on mental health.

Other topics that young people sought information on included how to apply for Susi grants and jobseeker’s allowance

CEO, Ian Power, has been speaking to Kildare Today.

He says it is vital young people have a trusted source of information to which to turn.
