The total cost of the leases was over €2.2 million.
273 homes in KIldare were under long-term social housing lease last year - at a total cost of €2.2 million.
Just 40 of those homes were being directly leased by Kildare County Council, according to data released to Kildare North Sinn Fein TD, Réada Cronin.
The majority of the properties, 119, were being rented by Approved Housing Bodies.
AHBs were also leasing 44 homes back to their former owners, as tenants, under the Mortgage to Rent scheme.
67 unsold affordable homes were also being leased last year.
