Horse Abuse And Puppy Yoga Scandal: Kildare Animal Charity Speaks Out Against Animal Mistreatment

A distressing video shows a man trying to drag a horse off the N81 in Tallaght.

Kildare animal rescue charity My Lovely Horse Rescue (MLHR) has vowed to track down a person seen striking a horse in the head.

A distressing video shows a man trying to drag a horse off the N81 in Tallaght.

The horse refuses to go with him, prompting the individual to strike it in the head and kick it.

Martina Kenny, co-founder of MHLR, said the incident has been reported to Gardai.

She urged anyone with information to reach out.

Meanwhile, an undercover investigation by MLHR has raised concerns about the sourcing and care of puppies used in so-called puppy yoga sessions.

Each one-hour session promoted by a French company includes yoga with puppies roaming freely and a dedicated "cuddling time."

Martina Kenny, co-founder of MLHR, said the compnay in question failed to conduct adequate background checks on breeders supplying the puppies.

Posing as breeders, MLHR claims they were easily accepted by the organisation without site visits or inquiries about the puppies' mothers.

MLHR also alleges that the company was willing to accept puppies as young as five to six weeks old, well below the recommended age for separation from their mothers.

Martina said her charity is now running ethical puppy and "paw-lates" classes to share stories of abandoned animals and how the animals should be treated.
