In Kildare, the average rent now stands at €1,437.81 per month.

The government has pledged to crack down on rogue landlords amid soaring rent prices.

New figures show average rents across Ireland jumped by 7 per cent during the second quarter of 2021 compared to 2020.

In Kildare, the average rent now stands at €1,437.81 per month.

This 7% increase is far higher than the 4 per cent increase previously allowed in Rent Pressure Zones, which cover most of the country, including the entirety of Co. Kildare.

The government says it has asked the Residential Tenancies Board to “aggressively” pursue landlords not complying with the rules.
