Its reported that Gardai in Kildare are poised to begin the search of a plot of land as part of their investigation in to the murder of Deirdre Jacob.
The 18 year old student teacher, who was home from London for the summer, was last seen near her home in Roseberry in Newbridge on July 28th, 1998.

The missing-persons investigation into Deirdre Jacob’s disappearance was upgraded to a murder inquiry in 2018.
That followed a review by the Garda serious crime review team.
