It happened in Mansfield Grove last Friday.
Gardai in Athy are appealing for information on burglary from a house in the Mansfield Grove estate last Friday, at around 8.30pm.
About an hour after going to work, the owner of the house received a notification on his phone that there had been an activation on his house alarm.
When he returned he found his house had been burgled.
The burglars gained entry to the house by smashing a front window after being unable to get in by forcing the front door.
An amount of cash and jewellery was taken.
Gardai are examining CCTV but are appealing to anyone who might have information to contact Athy Gardai on 059-8634210
