
€148,000 allocated to Kildare.
Kildare County Council has been allocated €148,000 to allocate to community groups.
The monies, from the Dept. of Rural and Community Affairs, is out of a total nationwide allocation of €4.5 million.
The grant scheme aims to provide funding to support local groups to re-open their facilities post Covid-19.
It also includes small grants for repairs and renovations,.
The Community Enhancement Programme, which focuses on, disadvantaged areas, is a pillar of the funding.
The grants will range from a few hundred euro up to €10,000, however, exceptions will be made depending on the application.
Announcing the funding today, Minister Heather Humphreys says “This funding is about giving a helping hand to our local groups...which are the lifeblood of our communities."
