A bench warrant was issued for David Williams (67), also known as David McHugh, after he missed a sentencing hearing.
It's understood that he had been hiding out at a property in Rathmore before being spotted by Gardai in Wicklow.
He previously worked as an accountant for former pop star Kerry Katona.

According to the Irish Independent, he was sought after failing to appear at a Dublin court on January 17, leading to a bench warrant for his arrest.
Williams, who defrauded around 1,200 people while posing as a barrister, had earlier pleaded guilty to multiple sample counts of deception on dates between January 2019 and June 2020.
He also pleaded guilty to defrauding an elderly Galway woman in a separate scam.
He encouraged the woman in her 80s to buy a mini-digger for over €7,000.
Williams was spotted by a garda in Wicklow last Tuesday and was arrested.
He will be sentenced later this month for the fraud charges.
Williams has a history of financial fraud, including a prior conviction in the UK for a £4m fraud scheme.
Katona, who had once worked with Williams, previously posted on social media, revealing the financial losses she suffered due to his actions.
She wrote: “I lost everything because of this man.”
