Dept: No Evidence Of Compilation Of Secret Dossiers.

RTE Prime Time alleged information was secretly compiled on autistic children.

The Department of Health says there is no evidence that it compiled secret dossiers on autistic children.

This was alleged by an RTE Prime Time programme broadcast in March.

It said this was carried out in cases where the parents of the children were involved in legal action against the State.

Secretary general Robert Watt is appearing before the Oireachtas Health Committee, on which sits Kildare North Fine Gael TD, Bernard Durkan.

Mr. Watt says information held by the Department was not collected secretly.
