Two companies have launched High Court challenges against the €1 billion Dart+ West project, which aims to extend electric train services from Dublin to Maynooth, and the M3 Parkway near Dunboyne in Meath.
Burke Brothers, a hardware supplier, and Gowan Motor Group, both based near Ashtown train station, are contesting An Bord Pleanála’s approval of the project.
They argue that land acquisition and roadworks will significantly impact their businesses.
The High Court has scheduled a three-day hearing for June 23rd before Mr Justice Garrett Simons.

Irish Rail is also progressing Dart+ South West, which will extend services to Celbridge.
A spokesperson confirmed awareness of the legal challenge, which names An Bord Pleanála, the Minister for Transport, and the Attorney General as defendants.
A new DART depot west of Maynooth station was not approved last year due to flood risk concerns, with local representatives critical of the refusal.
