Decrease in burglaries, thefts and related offences.
There's been a very steep year-on-year drop in the number of burglaries and thefts reported in the Kildare Division in the year to March.
That's according to the Central Statistics Office, which has released recorded crime data under reservation.
Between January and March last year, including the beginning of public health restrictions in the last two weeks of that month, 151 burglaries and 482 thefts were reported to Kildare Gardai.
For the same period this year, when the county was in Level 5 lockdown, the number of burglaries dropped to 94, and theft and related offences to 323.
