Kildare County Council is doing "everything they can" with the resources they have to maintain local parks.
That's according to Cllr Pat Balfe after the Acting Senior Parks and Landscape Officer for Kildare said comments by an elected member that the council is not doing enough "boil" his blood.
Simon Wallace made the remark after claims that an elected member in Monasterevin said the council is not doing its job when it comes to the upkeep of certain playgrounds.
Cllr Balfe, who did not make the comment, said he understands the frustration of locals over a perceived lack of repairs to playgrounds.
He told Kfm that he asked the council to remind the public how they can complain about issues.
In response, Wallace revealed that over €300K is being spent every year on the upkeep of playgrounds.
