Nationally over 6,000 people in Ireland died since the declaration of the pandemic
According to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre 6,087 people in Ireland have died due to Covid-19, since the pandemic was declared.
1,419 of national deaths occurred in January 2021 - compared to 196 deaths due to the virus in December 2021.
Since March 2020, Louth has the highest death rate based on population size, at 180 deaths per 100,000 people.
Mayo is the next highest at 176, followed by Monaghan, at 174.
That's followed by Cavan, at 171, then Co. Kildare at 164.
The county with the lowest rate is Galway, at 66.
