New data from the HSPC found only Clare and Limerick were ahead of Kildare .
Kildare has one of the highest rates of Covid-19 in the country, in third place after Clare and Limerick, according to data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.
In the week that ended on the 23rd of June, 586 people in Kildare had Covid-19.
The median age of a people in Kildare contracting Covid during that time was 42 years old.
The incidence rate in the county was 263.4 per 100,000 people.
Limerick, Clare, Kildare, Laois, Carlow, Wicklow and Kerry have the highest incidence rate of Covid-19 in the country.
The rate is lowest in Cavan, Longford, Roscommon, Meath and Monaghan.
The number of patients with Covid-19 in hospital rose to 685 yesterday, but there was a fall in numbers in intensive care to 20.
The positivity rate for people having PCR tests rose to 32.2pc over the past seven days.
