Son of hotelier Jim Mansfield Snr.
Businessman Jim Mansfield Jnr has been found not guilty of conspiring to falsely imprison his former security adviser seven years ago.
The 54-year-old businessman, who is a son of the late hotelier Jim Mansfield Senior, was cleared of a charge of conspiring to kidnap.
The Special Criminal Court has ruled that there was "insufficient evidence" to support the prosecution's case that he was part of a plot to kidnap Martin Byrne in June 2015.
But, the three judges found Mr Mansfield guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice by directing Mr Byrne's brother the day after the abduction to destroy CCTV footage at Finnstown House Hotel.
Mr. Mansfield had denied both charges.
He has been remanded in custody for sentencing on February 7th.
