Boil Water Notice Imposed On Parts Of South Kildare Lifted.

It was applied by Irish Water on Wednesday.

A boil water notice imposed on parts of South Kildare last Wednesday has been lifted.

Around 1,900 people in Graney, and parts of Castledermot, were impacted.

So, too, were 33,000 people in parts of Carlow and Wicklow.

Irish Water imposed the notice on households supplied by the Carlow North Regional, Tullow and Carlow Town supplies, following a "pollution incident" on the River Slaney.

This afternoon, it says, " following the completion of remedial measures and the receipt of satisfactory monitoring results, the boil water notice which has been in place is now lifted with immediate effect. Following consultation with the Health Service Executive, Irish Water and Carlow County Council issued a boil water notice on the Carlow North Regional PWS and Tullow PWS and Carlow Town PWS on the 8^th July 2021. The lifting of the notice was also done in consultation with the HSE."
