The group says the local community has been failed by the planning system.
The Ballyshannon Action Group is preparing to challenge An Bord Pleanala's decision to grant permission to Kilsaran for extraction 3 million tonnes of sand and gravel from a quarry there.
Kildare County Council, in 2019, refused permission to Kilsaran Concete for the project, at Racefield
BAG says there are "56 homes on a narrow country road, close to a number of farms, stud farms and primary schools at Racefield, Ballyshannon."
Kilsaran appealed refusal to the national planning authority.
There was staunch local opposition to the project, and over 200 objections were submitted to ABP, including by the Aga Khan and other leading members of the racing industry.

The Ballyshannon Action Group has now launched proceedings at the High Court, seeking a judicial review of the decision.
Spokesperson, Geraldine O'Connor, has been speaking to Kildare Today.
