35% increase in electricity prices, 39% in gas.
SSE Airtricity has announced a massive price hike, with electricity bills rising by over 35 per cent and gas bills by 39 per cent.
The changes will come into effect from October 1st.
SSE attributes the rise to the international energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.
The changes will result in an additional cost of €600 a year for electricity, and €500 for gas for the average customer.
