Almost €650K Has Been Awarded To Towns & Villages In South Kildare

Robertstown has secured €500,000 for the development of an eco-park

Robertstown has secured €500,000 under Minister Heather Humphreys’ Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

Some €645,000 has been allocated to South Kildare to regenerate and develop towns and villages.

In Robertstown the €500,000 will fund the development of a recreational facility which will include an eco-park, green playground, integrated green skate park, car park, dog park, playing pitches and an outdoor Amphitheatre at the centre.

Athy has been awarded €100,000 to invest in the improvement of the towns streetscape.

This funding will be available to business and property owners to renovate and improve the front of their properties to brighten the towns streetscape.

Derrinturn has also been successful in securing a €45,000 allocation to develop the restoration and extension of plans for the wonderful Carbury community centre,

In Monasterevin, the purchase of the old Bank of Ireland building will be secured to deliver a co-working enterprise hub.

Senator Fiona O'Loughlin has said the funding is a great boost for the residents of South Kildare.
