Over 1,000 people are awaiting to sit a test at Kildare's only centre, in Naas.

Nearly 58,000 people are on the waiting list for a driving test.

According to freedom of information figures, 15 test centres have over 1,000 on their waiting list, including Kildare's only centre, in Naas

Over 7,000 are on the list in Tallaght in Dublin - the worst in Ireland.

Brian Farrell, from the Road Safety Authority, says it will take several months to clear the backlog
