The best form of security is a nosy neighbour, says a Guard in Athy.
Garda Seán O' Mahoney, Athy Community Garda commented: "The pandemic has highlighted people being on their own.
"I've seen it over the last two years people looking out for neighbours.
"I was asked before what's the best form of security.
"And I firmly believe it's nosy neighbours.
"In Garda stations we have vulnerable persons registered.
"Myself and my colleagues can call out," he said.

18,000 calls were made to the SeniorLine last year, according to Anne Dempsey, Communications Manager & Training Facilitator Senior Line.
Anne has told KFM that her team is trained to take calls from people who feel worried or unsafe in their own home and if people feel lonely.
"Most older people are safe and well at home," she insisted.
"But we know that people's fears are very real and rational," she said.
