Since 2020, 39 children have died and more than 580 have been seriously injured on Irish roads, according to new figures from the Road Safety Authority.
The figure includes 23 children across Kildare.
The highest risk is at age 14, with more than a hundred cases nationally during that period.
Most incidents happened on a Friday.
As schools return in full across the county, the RSA is urging motorists to take extra care, warning that traffic volumes will rise sharply in the coming days.
Drivers are being asked to be particularly cautious of children walking, cycling, or getting on and off buses.
