549 people awaiting beds throughout Ireland
18 people were waiting on trolleys at 8am this morning, in Naas General Hospital.
According to the Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation, 549 people were awaiting beds throughout the country's hospitals - the first day in 4 days the number is below 600.
The INMO says the government's Winter Plan doesn't do enough to help with hospital overcrowding.
The govt is planning on hiring additional consultants and medical staff to reduce bed shortages this winter.
But the organisation says the opposite is happening - as doctors and nurses are leaving the profession.
Naas resident Phil Ní Sheaghdha, says the government's plans are too ambitious and not realistic:
