Kildare County Council has confirmed that a 1,000 litre tank of water with a tap has been installed in St Conleth's Cemetery in Newbridge.
Locals in the area had been growing increasingly frustrated at having to bring their own water supply to the cemetery to water flowers on loved ones’ graves.
The taps and toilets in the cemetery are currently not in operation.
The Council says this is a temporary measure, pending the reconnection of the water supply.
