589 people waiting on trolleys throughout Ireland's hospital system

As of 8am, Wednesday morning, 10 people were waiting on trolleys for access to a bed at Naas General.

That's according to The Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation 'Trolley Watch' figures.

589 admitted patients were waiting on trolleys, throughout Ireland's hospital system.

492 were waiting in emergency departments, while 97 were in wards elsewhere in the country's hospitals.

At the same time 20 people were awaiting beds at Tallaght University Hospital, with 29 people waiting on trolleys at St. James Hospital.

In the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise 9 people were awaiting beds.

But bucking the trend, at Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, no-one was waiting on a trolley for access to a bed at 8am.
