Cop26 meeting taking place in Scotland, in November

UK authorities note plans to relax travel rules for thousands of delegates attending a major climate summit in Scotland, in November.

Up to 25,000 guests from all over the globe are expected to attend the Cop26 event in Glasgow, which will have strict Covid-19 protocols in place.

The climate summit now has even greater meaning following yesterday's landmark report release by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, on global warming.

President of Cop26, Alok Sharma, said the "report shows that the lights are flashing red on the climate dashboard".


United Nations' environment experts say "nobody is safe", but that the power to tackle the climate emergency is "in our hands".
