Statue Of Princess Diana Unveiled By Her Sons

Today would have been her 60th birthday

This afternoon Britain's Princes William and Harry unveiled a statue of their mother, Princess Diana, on what would have been her 60th birthday.

The brothers hope the sculture will be "seen forever as a symbol of her life and legacy".

It shows the Princess surrounded by three children, apparently reflecting her "warmth, elegance and energy".

Diana’s family joined the two brothers - divided on many issues - who put on a united front and seemed relaxed around each other.

The bronze statue was erected in Kensington Palace's Sunken Garden, her former residence.

The brothers commissioned the piece in 2017, which was made by sculptor, Ian Rank-Broadley.

Prince Harry travelled from his home in California to attend the event.

The former wife of Prince Charles died in a car crash in 1997, in Paris.
