Some Coal-Using Countries Commit To Phasing Out Fossil Fuels At COP26

World's energy on today's agenda at climate summit

Dozens of major coal-using countries - like Poland, Ukraine and Vietnam - have committed to phasing out the fossil fuel, as part of talks at Cop26.

Energy is on the agenda at the climate summit in Glasgow.

Delegates have been told the "end of coal is in sight" - but there have already been doubts.

China, one of the world's biggest carbon emitters, hasn’t signed up - neither has the United States.

The summit's president says a coalition of countries have agreed to instead prioritise support for a transition to clean energy.

Some countries still use it to generate electricity - but it's a major source of greenhouse gases.
