800 employees fired last week
This morning, approximately 40 people, protesting against P&O Ferries, have been moved by police from the entrance to the Port of Liverpool.
The firm fired 800 employees last week, and replaced them with cheaper agency workers.
The company says it's offered 'generous compensation', and insists it's not broken any laws.
In the UK yesterday, P&O Ferries announced the payment of over £36.5 million to the workers laid off.
Some of the fired staff will receive more than £170,000 in redundancy pay.
The company has been heavily criticised by trade unions and some British government ministers.
